Wena Teng was born in New York, and raised between New York and Fuzhou, China. Currently, a Yenching Scholar on the Law and Society Track, she is interested in positioning labor law within the history of economic justice and Third World Approaches to International Law. With experience leading Labor of Change, a youth-led organization fighting for a just economy and labor power, Asian American Alliance, and other organizations, Wena is excited to efficiently shape YGS into a space for future leaders and global solidarity.

Gloria Tsang is a Yenching Scholar in Politics and International Relations with eight years of experience driving global youth initiatives. From leading Columbia University’s Cyphers for Justice and founding the Sino-Gulf Youth Network to co-organizing the world’s largest student-led energy summit at COP28, she empowers young leaders worldwide to build understanding where diplomacy struggles. As Co-Chair of YGS, Gloria leads efforts to reimagine how youth shape dialogue and cooperation around China’s evolving engagement with the world.

Born in Germany, Tom-Louis Flohrer is a Yenching scholar studying Economics and Management. Having a rich work experience in consulting, he is eager to lead significant change at the intersection of business, government, and technology. As the director of academics, he looks forward to addressing the most pressing challenges of our time by fostering collaboration within a diverse cohort of emerging leaders.

Born and raised in Guangzhou, Guangdong, Zhang Yushu is a master student studying Law and Society at Yenching Academy. Her various moot court experiences led her to explore international law studies. Yushu has also established connections with judges, arbitrators, lawyers, scholars, and law students from all over the world through her law competitions. Being the Director of Academics, Yushu is thrilled to embark on a YGS academic adventure with you.

Originally from Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, Yu Anqi majores in the Law and Society track at Yenching Academy. Having participated in the CIETAC CUP International Moot, she became interested in sustainable development issues in international
economic law. As the Director of Logistics, she will devote herself to supporting content, collaboration and engagement of YGS.

Born and raised in Guangzhou, China, Zhang Xiaoyue specializes in Literature and Culture as a Yenching Scholar. During her undergraduate studies, she received an interdisciplinary humanities and liberal arts-styled education and discovered her true passion for literature. She is also interested in theatre arts and has directed several dramas. Serving as the Director of Logistics, she will try her best to navigate your journey at YGS.

John Patrick studies Law and Society as a Yenching scholar. He has been a enthusiast in learning about China and aims to promote dialogue between China and the West on international legal issues. He learned Chinese in France where he lived in Chinatown and served the Chinese-speaking community as a missionary. He furthered his Chinese language skills by completing Tsinghua University’s Inter-University Program. John is excited to help you enjoy YGS, enjoy China by serving as the Director of Volunteers.

Jing Yuan is from Singapore, and is now under the Economics and Management track. Prior to Yenching Academy, he interned at multiple Singapore government agencies and served with numerous student organisations in both Singapore and UK. As the Director of Delegates, Jing Yuan hopes to foster global conversations and forge meaningful experiences amongst the incoming delegates.

Oscar Leander Bray was born in Germany and raised in the United States. Currently studying History and Archaeology at Yenching Academy, Oscar is an enthusiast for promoting East Asian culture. He helped found the World Tea Association, dedicated to building communities around a shared interest in tea. Being the Director of Social Programming, Oscar is sure to help you embark on an exciting culture discovery journey.

Hsu Shi En was born and raised in Hong Kong SAR, China. Currently she pursues the Politics and International Relations track at Yenching Academy. Shi En was actively involved in the University's Women in Business society during her undergraduate years. Being the Director of Social Programming, Shi En will utilise her expertise to make the social events at YGS fun and memorable.

Born and raised in Ireland to Nigerian and South African parents, Olufunke Grace Odunlami is pursuing the Economics and Managemen track at Yenching Academy. Grace holds a strong love for Chinese language and culture which is shown through her minor degree in Mandarin and various volunteering experiences related to Chinese cultural events. As the Director of Public Relations, Grace wishes to enhance the ties between you and China, igniting your interest in exploring China and related global problems.

Born in Beijing, China, Xia Shiyi majors in the Economics and Management track at Yenching Academy. Shiyi bears a strong interest in international marketing. She has been the chief editor of the school newspaper agency and also accumulated rich marketing experience by interning in various industries. As the Director of Public Relations, Shiyi wishes to exert her expertise and make YGS heard and liked by more people across the world.

Xu Yuwei was born and raised in Shanghai, China. She pursues the History and Archaeology track at Yenching Academy, aiming to advance her knowledge about the global dissemination of Chinese arts, culture, and history. Yuwei specializes in Chinese Art History and hopes to integrate Chinese and Western traditions through delicate art. Being the Director of Design, Yuwei is passionate about spreading the essence of China’s history and culture through the delivery of YGS designing materials.
